The Board of Directors Announces New Leadership

Jennifer Hercman, new Executive Director of Adaptive Design Association, Inc.

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Hercman as the new executive director.  Jennifer succeeds Alex Truesdell, founder and Executive Director since its incorporation in 2001, who is moving on to a new phase in her work.

Jennifer joined the Adaptive Design team in October 2015. Over the last 4 years, she has worked closely with the board and staff to develop and implement organizational strategic planning, communication and fundraising campaigns.

Jennifer attended Rhode Island School of Design’s master's program for Teaching + Learning in Art +Design. There she explored questions about empathy, perspective, and inclusion. These questions led to her thesis discussing alternative perspectives in art and design. Her post-grad work Project Open Door, a program offering urban teens free art & design programs, was her first management responsibility in the nonprofit sector. Jennifer specializes in management and communications. She has volunteered her time to work with local nonprofits, and government agencies to promote access to art and design.

Jennifer will lead an interdisciplinary team and be responsible for implementing a strategic focus on clients, developing operational partnerships to expand Adaptive Design’s client base and providing educational opportunities to professionals in the field to do the same.

Adaptive Design Association remains committed to our mission and values as we move forward to our next chapter under Jennifer’s leadership.  Please join us in welcoming Jennifer as Adaptive Design’s new Executive Director.
