Kit Frank, an occupational therapist volunteering in Ecuador with her husband, contacted us a few weeks ago looking for the best way to get their hands on Triwall® corrugated cardboard. We let them know that in a place like Ibarra, Ecuador, it may be better to make it than buy it.
Group #74 has chosen Adaptive Design Association as part of their legacy project and will have volunteers here for the next three days. We can't wait to see how they finish the Caring Chairs™ that they are sponsoring.
Through our Work-Readiness Program, interns gain skills while doing meaningful work. Their help in finishing equipment is an integral part of Adaptive Design.
Adaptive Equipment at ADA
Holds tactually-rich materials for exploration--rice, sand, pasta, nuts (in shells), beads, brushes, washers, etc., etc. Bins lift out easily so materials can be cleaned and exchanged.
Promotes balance and sensory integration while working on table-top activities or studying.
