Kit Frank, an occupational therapist volunteering in Ecuador with her husband, contacted us a few weeks ago looking for the best way to get their hands on Triwall® corrugated cardboard. We let them know that in a place like Ibarra, Ecuador, it may be better to make it than buy it.
Group #74 has chosen Adaptive Design Association as part of their legacy project and will have volunteers here for the next three days. We can't wait to see how they finish the Caring Chairs™ that they are sponsoring.
Adaptive Equipment at ADA
Holds tactually-rich materials for exploration--rice, sand, pasta, nuts (in shells), beads, brushes, washers, etc., etc. Bins lift out easily so materials can be cleaned and exchanged.
Custom-fit steps enable little people to access out-of-reach facilities such as water fountains, sinks, and toilets.
Custom-fit chairs are designed around a child's specific measurements, unique positioning needs, and the settings where the chair will be used. Every feature must be considered, including: seat-to-back angle, seat depth, armrest heights, foot supports, positioning belts, head support, and trunk laterals.
